Vbkom Bursaries 2024: Financial Aid for Undergraduate Degrees, Honor Degrees, or BTech Diplomas

About Vbkom
With a vision to provide success to mining companies all throughout the African continent, five mining engineers created VBKOM in 2008. To do this, it would be necessary to create a highly qualified consulting company that would be able to provide both domestic and foreign clients specialized technical mining consulting services.

As a result of their success and development in the early stages, the firm was able to expand its basic offering of mining engineering services. The smart inclusion of important supplementary services helped the business to go even further and enhance customer assistance across the whole value chain. To better serve their large clientele in the region, VBKOM built a second office in Kathu in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa in 2015. Being completely available to their customers is essential since they are continually striving to improve the quality of their services.

About the Vbkom Bursaries 2024
Vbkom is offering bursary programmes for individuals who need immediate financial aid to pursue their undergraduate degrees, honor degrees, or BTech diplomas. The Vbkom Bursaries is an open-access program that accepts applicants from all backgrounds. You will be given the assistance you need as an awardee to pursue your academic degree. You are more than welcome to try out for this chance if you exhibit excellent academic performance and important traits as a student.

Selected recipients of the bursaries will be entitled to full payment of registration costs and tuitions fees. As long as the recipient passes the registered topics and continues to adhere to the terms of the Vbkom bursary contract, the scholarship is granted for the duration of the prescribed course.

As part of the bursary programme, you will be required to fulfill the following bursary obligations:

• After graduation, the bursar has a year-for-year service commitment to Vbkom, meaning that for every academic year (or portion of an academic year) for which the bursar is sponsored, the bursar must serve one year at Vbkom
• At the conclusion of the first, second, and third academic years, Vbkom employees are required to perform fully compensated vacation labor.

Sadly, Vbkom does not offer bursary programmes to students pursuing National Diplomas.

Eligibility Criteria
Please register if you’re positive that you want to participate in the Vbkom Bursaries. Don’t worry if you are still wondering if you would fit in. All you need to do is double-check your qualifications against the criteria of the selection committee and the prerequisites listed below. Make sure you meet all of the requirements if you want to have a chance of being accepted. While it might not definitely disqualify you, doing so could lower your chances of being accepted.

The Vbkom Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
1. General Requirements

• Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
• Fulfill the university entry requirements
• Officially accepted at an accredited South African university for full-time studies.

2. Educational Qualification

A. Current Grade 12 Students or Already Matriculated (But Not Studying Yet)

• At least Level 5/60%/C symbol in Mathematics HG/Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science HG/Physical Science and English
• Must have taken the subjects above in Grade 10-12
• Must have obtained a minimum of Level 5/60%/C symbol in the subjects above.

B. Current University Studens

• Pursuing your studies in either one of the following fields:
  • Project Management
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Geology (majoring in Mineralogy, Petrology, Applied Geology, or Economic Geology) Physical Metallurgy/Materials Science.
• Must have obtained at least an overall average aggregate score of 60%
• Must not have failed their courses or subjects.

Please fill out the application form with your most relevant responses by typing them into the appropriate areas. All of the personal information you submit should be accurate and correspond to your actual circumstances.

Additionally, you are required to provide the documents below:

• In Grade 12 currently or already matriculated but not studying yet: Certified copies of final Grade 10 & 11 school reports and most recent Grade 12 school report. (Optional but recommended: Certified copy of proof of registration or acceptance at a recognised university)
• Certified copy of proof of identity (ID or passport)
• Curriculum vitae
• At university currently: Certified copies of Matric certificate and official university transcript/certificates/registration.

All these documents should be included in your application dossier. Incomplete applications will automatically be disqualified from the the registration process.

The legitimacy of the candidates will be confirmed by extra examination and vetting procedures for applications. During the registration period, anyone discovered to have lied about anything on their application would not be permitted to register.

Candidates must process their applications through the methods provided above. Submissions made through other methods, such as fax, will not be accepted by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Vbkom Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 12 January 2024.

Sending in your applications as soon as you can is advised. You can increase your chances of getting a position during registration by submitting early. Additionally, it avoids any unwelcome last-minute occurrences like unexpectedly high Internet traffic or lost data.

The selection committee will not accept applications that are incomplete. Candidates whose applications are received after the deadline won’t be taken into consideration. Any late contributions, regardless of their content, will be ignored and ignored submissions will not be reviewed.

Announcements will only be made to shortlisted candidates. If you do not hear back from the selection committee within 3 months past the closing date, we regret to inform you that you have not been chosen for the programme.

Throughout the hiring process, Vbkom has the exclusive authority to make any appointments. The selecting committee’s choices are final in all respects.
