Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the FirstRand Bursaries must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. Each of these items below will determine whether you have what it takes to proceed with this bursary. The FirstRand Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 21 and 35 years old
- Complete Matric
- Achieve a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Matric (NOT Mathematical Literacy)
- Complete an Undergraduate degree between 2022 and 2024
- Enroll in a full-time 1-year Honours degree program
- Pursue your first postgraduate qualification
- Study at a public university in South Africa
- Achieve a minimum overall average of 60% in your undergraduate degree studies
Have a combined gross family income of no more than R600,000 per annum.

- Affidavit if they are unemployed
- Affidavit stating annual income if they are self-employed
- The most recent audited financial statement or bank statements from the past 3 months if they own a business
- A SASSA letter detailing any grants received (if applicable)
- The completed EEA1 form
All these documents should be included in your application dossier. Incomplete applications will be disqualified.
Your registration for the event will be handled by the selection committee using the data you supply. You authorize the committee to use your personal information for this purpose by submitting your applications.
It will be examined by the entire selection committee, which will include you, and the information you supply will be kept confidential. As a result, you should do a thorough check to guarantee that there is no fake information included.
