About the Hulamin Bursaries 2021
Hulamin is giving out financial assistance for South African students who are planning to study for their first degree in an accredited local University. The Hulamin Bursaries is currently available for the study fields below:

  • Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Hulamin Bursaries, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria that comes with the programme. Each of these items determine whether you’d make a valuable fit for the financial aid or not. To guarantee a successful application, candidates must meet all of the requirements expected by the selection committee. Failure to do so might cause disadvantageous consequences towards the overall result of your applications.

The Hulamin Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
  • Originating from a previously disadvantaged background
  • Residing in Pietermaritzburg or surrounding areas
  • Planning to pursue a first degree in University
  • Fulfills the entry requirements asked of by their approved University and preferred study field
  • Grade 12 students must have the following scores:
    • At least a B symbol for Mathematics (higher grade), Physical Science (higher grade), and English for Engineering Degree, or;
    • At least a B symbol for Accountancy and English for Accounting Degree.

Read through the instructions before filling in the boxes with your answers. Make sure the personal information you provide stays true to your current conditions. Candidates found to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will immediately be removed from registration.

Candidates must provide the following documents in their dossier:

  • A certified copy of your Identity Document
  • A complete official study record/annual records from your written examinations
  • A certified copy of your Grade 12 June Examination results
  • A legitimate copy of your relevant contract that shows the funding for your education
  • A certified copy of any certificates relevant to your qualifications.

Your application form should be fully filled and all these documents should be compiled under one dossier. Any incomplete dossiers will not be eligible for the bursary.

Closing Date
Applications for the Hulamin Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 31 October 2021.

If you are keen on signing up for the bursary, please prepare your application as soon as possible. It’s recommended that you don’t wait until the last minute to make your submissions.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified of their success. Should you not hear back from the selection committee by the end of October, we regret to inform you that your application has not been accepted.

The selection committee will not be tolerating any submissions made past the closing date. Anyone discovered to be sending in their applications past the deadline will not be eligible for the recruitment process.

Hulamin holds all rights to award a candidate a bursary or not. Any candidate found to be canvassing with the committee’s decision will be disqualified from the programme.
