eThekwini Municipality is offering apprenticeships for suitable South African candidates who wish to acquire practical working experience directly in the field. The eThekwini Municipality Apprenticeships is a remarkable opportunity that provides selected candidates with the opportunity to become a full-fledged artisan. Apprentices must perform their duties as per required by the SETA and the National Artisan Moderating Body.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will obtain both theoretical assessments and complete an on-site training sessions. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will need to undergo through a formal trade test. Should you pass this test, you will receive status as an Artisan.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the eThekwini Municipality Apprenticeships must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. The eThekwini Municipality Apprenticeships Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

• Possesses an N2 Certificate with the trade theory subject relevant to the course;
  • Or a Technical/Grade 12 qualification with the subjects of Maths, Physical Science/Engineering Science, and a relevant trade theory;
  • Or a relevant N6 certificate or National Technical Diplomat (S or N stream)
• Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa (has Identity Document)
• Currently residing in eThekwini (must provide proof of residence)
• Passionate about the field of their choice
• Currently between 18-30 years old
• Has not taken part in an apprenticeship prior to this one
• Must be prepared to undergo through several pre-assessment sessions
• People with Disabilities are more than encouraged to give this opportunity a shot
• Priority will be offered to candidates who are considered underrepresented (e.g. gender, race, disability).
