AIBPROF (Athlone Institute Bursary Project Fund) is awarding students with their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year at an undergraduate/postgraduate level. The AIBPROF (Athlone Institute Bursary Project Fund) Bursary aims to support students residing in the Paarl or Mbekweni area of the Western Cape or those who are parishioners at any of the five member churches affiliated with the Athlone Institute Trust. These churches comprise St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Immanuel UR Church, Bethel United Congregational Church (UCC), Holy Trinity Anglican Church, and Zions Uniting Reformed Church.
The bursary program is designed to alleviate financial burdens by covering a portion of registration and tuition fees. The exact value of the bursary, determined by the AIT, will contribute towards educational expenses, facilitating access to higher education for deserving individuals within the community.

- Confirm your membership in one of the member churches of the AIT or any legitimate denomination/religious institution in Paarl or Mbekweni.
- Successfully complete your Matric.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Enroll for undergraduate or postgraduate studies, whether full-time or part-time, for the 2024 academic year.
- Enroll at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution (TVET College/University/University of Technology).
- Ensure you have passed your previous year of study if currently enrolled.
- Commit to participating in community service within the Paarl/Mbekweni area.
- Commit to participating in the mentoring program.

Candidates must first obtain the bursary application form. Bursary forms are available for collection at various locations, including member churches, Drakenstein Pharmacy situated at 55 Jan Van Riebeeck Drive, Denneburg, Paarl, and New Orleans High School located at 6 Suikerbos Avenue, Charleston Hill, Paarl.
Kindly complete the application form by inputting your most pertinent details in the designated fields. It’s crucial that all personal information provided is both accurate and reflective of your current situation. Your diligence in ensuring the accuracy of your submissions will greatly assist in the processing of your application.
Additionally, you will also need to provide clear copies of the documents below:
- A certified copy of your ID document is required.
- You need to provide a certified copy of your Matric certificate.
- If you are presently enrolled in studies, include a certified copy of your complete academic record.
- Ensure to submit proof of your registration at a tertiary institution, also certified.
- Include evidence of payment for your registration fees.
- Provide documentation confirming your current residence.
- If employed, supply your parents’ or guardians’ latest payslips; if unemployed, furnish affidavits.
- Obtain an official testimonial from your Religious Leader.
Upon submission of your applications, you are granting consent to the selection committee to utilize your personal information for registration purposes.
Each application will undergo thorough scrutiny and additional vetting procedures to verify the legitimacy of the applicants. Individuals discovered to have provided false information in their applications will be ineligible for registration during the designated period.
