About Woodlands Dairy
Woodlands Dairy is a family-owned group under the Gutsche name that started out as a humble farm in the year 1995. During its beginnings, the group was simply a packaging plant that has been opened specifically to accommodate for all of the produced milk on Woodlands Farm. Located directly on the Easter Cape dairy area, which is situated within the South African Garden Route, the group is home to a total of 1400 employees that put their heart and soul into their line of work. Whether it’s in dairy milk production, or attending to customers, Woodlands Dairy provides their ultimate best in whatever they do.
Operating for more than 20 years already, Woodlands Dairy has organically grown into one of South Africa’s most prominent UHT milk manufacturers. Recognizing the high quality that is put into the milk that is produced, Woodlands Dairy has been given the prestigious FIRST CHOICE® recognition, and their dairy products are trusted by the likes of Woolworths and SPAR. Most South Africans are able to recognize Woodlands Dairy products in the aisles of shops and supermarkets. These products include, of course, UHT Milk, butter, custard, ice cream, amasi, dessert toppings, and many more.
Farmers are not just the only human asset at Woodlands Dairy – this one big company is comprised of many teams that work directly on the farms, and also outside of it as well. Take a look below to see the teams that make up Woodlands Dairy:
1. Product Development and Contract Packaging
This in-house team focuses on researching on whats trending in the dairy markets, and what kinds of products are currently in demand by the general public. Marketing researches are conducted as a means to better understand the needs of their beloved consumers.
Farmers are the heart of the company. Not only do they directly take part in attaining the milk needed for further production, but they also bear the responsibility in tending to their pasture-fed cows. In order to provide the best quality of milk, taking care of the cows in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner is just as important. Hence, their Woodlands Dairy Sustainability Programme.
3. Production Plant
The production team assists in transforming raw milk into suitable, ready-to-use dairy products. Under the advanced technology facilities, the already skilled workers are able to reach their production targets on a daily basis. Additionally, since hygiene is a number one priority in the company, everything is conducted through sanitary methods to ensure the safety and cleanliness.
4. Sales and Export
Making sure that their products are distributed in the appropriate shops and outlets, the sales and export team goes out of their way to keep in touch with their partnering South African food service outlets, stores, and wholesales. With Port Elizabeth harbour a couple of miles away from their operations, the company is able to transport their goods in an strategic and quick manner.
