About the DRDLR
The DRDLR, which is short for the Ministry of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR), was founded in 2009 over the basis of having a department that would commit themselves to developing the nation of South Africa through its social and economic sectors. The main purpose of this department is to bring out the potential of rural areas and make sure they are given the same privileges as their surrounding urban cities, including basic human rights and dignity.

About the DRDLR Bursary Programme
The DRDLR is currently providing several bursaries to local youths who require financial assistance to pursue their future degrees in tertiary institutions. All candidates must hold South African citizenship and is planning/currently studying in one of these provided fields below:

• Bachelor Degree in Land Surveying/Geomatics
• Bachelor Degree in Town and Regional Planning/Urban Design
• Bachelor Degree in Geo-Informatics/Geographic Information Science
• National Diploma in Surveying/Cartography
• National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning.

In order to sign up for the bursary, all candidates must have a minimum qualification of a National Senior Certificate specializing in the key subjects of Mathematics and Physical Science (either in Level 4, HG D, or SG C). Regarding the tertiary institution, it is the candidate’s task to gain admission and future accommodation by themselves as the programme will not be responsible for the candidate’s enrollment.

Once selected candidates receive a contract with their respective departments, the candidates are officially rewarded with the full-time bursary. However, in order to keep the bursary, grantees must maintain a outstanding academic track record throughout the course of their studies.

Should you receive the bursary, you will be entitled to a funding that will help you remain financial secure as your pursue your respective degrees. The DRDLR Bursary programme provides monetary coverage for tuition expenses, registration fees, accommodation, meals, living expenses, and study materials. The DRDLR Bursary Requirements
Applying the DRDLR Bursary programme takes a lot of hard work. • Valid copies of your identification
• Your most updated Curriculum Vitae
• A Matric examination/Grade 12 certificate
• A valid copy of your academic transcript (applicable for university students only)
• A letter of admission provided by tertiary institution.

How to Apply
In order to apply for the DRDLR Bursary programme, candidates must gather all of the aforementioned documents that have been stated above and submit them to the programme head office. There are two ways of submission – you can either send your applications via postal carriage or hand deliver it directly. Please refer to these two submission addresses for each application method:
