About the Schauenburg Education Trust Bursaries 2023
Schauenburg Education Trust is offering bursary programmes for 1st-3rd year university students who are pursuing their Degree in a Gauteng-based university. The Schauenburg Education Trust Bursaries provide students who are working toward gaining degrees in scarce skills with financial aid. This helps to ensure that more trained professionals are created and generated for future employment in South Africa.

The Schauenburg Education Trust will devote its efforts, for the foreseeable future at least, to the distribution of bursaries to college students who are currently enrolled in their respective programs in the fields of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as well as Business Management and Business Administration, at the universities that have been designated.

Bursary Coverage

• 100% of the tuition costs, registration fees, and test fees that are mandated by the university will be paid in full and immediately to the university
• A sum that is equivalent to the typical cost of a single room in a university dormitory at the institution where the student is currently enrolled in classes. This fee, which may be paid directly to the University of Schauenburg, will be established by the Trustees of the Schauenburg Education Trust
• A sum for the cost of textbooks and other required materials
• A monetary sum designated for living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

The Schauenburg Education Trust Bursaries Eligibliity Criteria are as follows:

• Recognized as a cfull-time first-third year student
• Pursuing their Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng or BSc), Business Management and Business Administration (BCom)
• Currently pursuing their education in one of these Gauteng province universities:
  • North-West University (Vanderbijlpark)
  • University of Johannesburg
  • University of Pretoria
  • University of the Witwatersrand
• Black Persons as per B-BBEE Legislation, with preference given to Black women, Black students under 35 years of age, and Black students with disabilities
• Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa with a legitimate Identity Document number
• Preapred to attend the upcoming interviews and necessary pscyhometric testing
• Prepared to work during vacation at Schauenburg Systems (Pty) Ltd.

Important Notes
Students who are currently in possession of one or more bursaries for the 2023 academic year will not be considered for further financial assistance in the form of a scholarship.

The Trustees will choose recipients for bursaries using a variety of criteria, the most important of which are objective merit and financial necessity.

Bursaries will be given out at the sole and absolute discretion of the Trustees, and they are subject to cancellation or withdrawal at any time if the applicant’s behavior or academic results do not meet the requirements of the Trust or satisfy the Trustees, or if the applicant violates the terms of the Bursary Agreement. Bursaries will be given out at the sole and absolute discretion of the Trustees.

The Board of Trustees will decide which universities meet the criteria for study, and they have the ability to make changes to the list of approved universities at any moment.

Closing Date
Applications for the Schauenburg Education Trust Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 30 July 2022.
