About the Premier Milling Apprenticeship 2024-2027
Premier is offering a Milling Apprenticeships for miller who are interested in developing their knowledge and expertise in Technical Milling. The Premier Milling Apprenticeship is fantastic development opportunity that takes place in Pretoria, Gauteng. Throughout the programme, you will be welcomed into a dynamic working culture backed up by a group of excited and passionate employees. You will be encouraged to work on your available skillset, while at the same time, bring forth new ideas onto the table. Everyone in the team is dedicated to making positive contributions to the company.
The Premier Milling Apprenticeship will be conducted for 2.5 years, complete with in-service training experience. Apprentices will be subjected to theoretical assessments held by SAGMA. This is followed by practical work sessions in a real-time milling environment. With the help of FMCG experts in the area, you will be asked to show immense, stable progress with your development.
As an apprentice, you will need to tackle on the following responsibilities:
- Passing all SAGMA modules with flying colors
- Developing a deeper understanding for the department knowledge in regards to the milling supply chain
- Operating each duty as required in the department
- Performing other required responsibilities as tasked by the Production Manager or Head Miller.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Premier Milling Apprenticeship will need to fulfill an eligibility criteria to be considered qualified for the programme. The Premier Milling Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Be young (18 – 25), dynamic, and self-motivated

- Develop technical skills and engage in hands-on tasks
- Hold a Matric certificate
- Possess an N3 qualification
- Cultivate a curious mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Function effectively in a team and contribute to a high-performance, pressurized environment
- Embrace a go-getter spirit to learn, find solutions, and use initiative
- Enjoy working with mechanical systems and be technically inclined
- Think analytically and logically, paying close attention to detail
- Work comfortably at heights and in confined spaces
- Demonstrate good hand-eye coordination and enjoy hands-on work
- Maintain a valid RSA passport
- Commit to working a 5-day week and be available for overtime as needed
- Prepare to travel and work at various Premier sites for up to 4 months, arranging your own accommodation
- Pass all theoretical training with the specified management pass rate.
