SAPS (South African Police Service) is seeking enthusiastic candidates who wish to develop themselves in a company setting in a Mechanical Apprenticeship. The SAPS (South African Police Service) Mechanical Apprenticeship will require you to perform the following duties:

  • Repairs and maintenance of SAPS vehicles must be carried out in a quality and cost-effective manner
  • Maintain a sanitary and risk-free workplace at all times
  • Help with the diagnosis, disassembly, and identifying of the necessary components for the servicing and repairs
  • Complete list of requests for parts that correspond to the requirements for each vehicle
  • Fill out the job card with the details of the work done and the exact amount of time it took
  • Ensure that all of the tools and equipment are stored securely
  • Mentor apprentices under supervision
  • Ensure that you are in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 83 of 1995).

  • Must not have any tattoos or body markings that are visible when wearing the summer version of the SAPS uniform
  • A screening procedure that will involve both a background check and a security check will be carried out on applicants fingerprint verification
  • Possesses a Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • Those who have previous experience as Apprentices will have an edge.
