Eligibility Criteria
Before moving forward with their applications, individuals who have expressed interest in the Standard Bank Bursaries are required to demonstrate that they satisfy certain eligibility requirements. The answers to each of the questions that follow will indicate whether or not you are qualified to move forward with this learnership. Candidates are strongly encouraged to ensure that their applications meet all of the requirements outlined in the following paragraphs. In the event that you do not adhere to these requirements, the overall result of your applications will suffer as a direct consequence.

The Standard Bank Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

• Shows need for immediate financial assistance
• Obtained at least an average aggregate overall score of 65% in your latest examinations
• Displays strong academic record
• Pursuing your education at a South African public tertiary institution
• Either pursuing full-time towards your undergraduate/postgraduate qualification
• Currently entering your 2nd-final year of your studies in 2024 (for undergraduate students).

In addition to sending filling in the enquiries in the portals above, candidates will also need to provide the documents below:

• A copy of your Identity Document
• Your Matric certificate
• Complete academic track record (on institution’s letterhead)
• Legitimate proof of your parents’/guardians’ houehold income (e.g. most recent payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, or pension slips).

All these documents must be included in your application dossier. Incomplete dossiers will not be considered for the programme.

You can also submit your application by using your smartphone instead of your computer because this method is significantly more convenient. You can use Google Chrome as your web browser if you are working with an Android operating system on your handheld device. You don’t need to install any other browsers on your phone because Google Chrome comes pre-installed in handsets running the Android operating system.

On top of this, you will be required to write an application essay based on these prompts:

• Please provide some details about your background and the state of your family
• List your achievements and the positions of leadership you have held so far (academic, sport, community service, etc.)
• Where in your life do you succeed and where do you struggle?
• How do your skills, interests, and the type of job you want to get in the future relate to the study path you’ve chosen?
• Individual Statement. Please consider what you have said in the preceding paragraphs as you write a personal statement that will serve as the main focus of your application profile.

By submitting your applications, you are granting permission to the selection committee to use your personal information for the purpose of registering you for the event.

Candidates are required to submit their applications via the website linked to above. Attempts to submit materials via other means, such as hand delivery or fax, will be rejected by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Standard Bank Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 30 September 2023.

It is possible to guarantee that your application is protected as soon as possible by registering as soon as feasible. However, this does not guarantee immediate success and is just designed to give you with a stable position during the recruitment process.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted by the selection committee. Candidates that submit their applications after the deadline will not be considered. All submissions submitted after the deadline, regardless of their substance, will be discarded without further consideration.
