The bursary programme welcomes candidates originating from Previously Disadvantaged Backgrounds and are legitimate residents of Nkangala District Municipality. Candidates can either pursue their studies in a South African University or FET College.
Additionally, candidates will need to pursue either one of the studies below:
- Civil Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Regional/Town Planning

The Nkangala District Municipality Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Officially recognised as a citizen of South Africa
- Currently living within the NDM region (e.g. Emakhazeni, Victor Khanye, Steve Tshwete, Emalahleni, Thembisile Hani, Dr JS Moroka Local Municipalities)
- Candidates recognised as students of FET Colleges are highly advised to give this opportunity a shot
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to take part in a contractual agreement under the NDM.

Once you have downloaded the application form, please skim through the instructions before filling them in with your answers. Candidates will need to write down their answers in CAPITAL LETTERS using a black pen.
Additionally, you will be required to provide certified copies of the following documents:
- Your latest academic track records
- Certified South African Identity DOcuments for both Student & Parent/Guardian
- A letter of acceptance issued by your university
- Certified proof of your current resident (statement of water & lights, rates/tribal authority letter)
- Legitimate proof of joint income from your Parent/Guardian.
All these documents should be included in your applications. Incomplete applications will not be entertained by the selection committee.
