Amazon Web Services is providing extensive financial assistance to South African students in the form of full-expenses paid bursaries for undergraduate degrees. The AWS (Amazon Web Services) Bursaries is a funding initiative started by Amazon to support those who are pursuing their education in the fields of Business Science, Computer Science, Business Science, Information Technology, and Engineering.

The purpose behind this bursary to is provide the necessary assistance to people who are dealing with the technology department. Bursaries are awarded based on the academic achievements of each candidates and their proven need for immediate financial assistance. Please be kindly informed that consideration will also be offered to students who are undergoing a disability.

Eligibility Criteria
Before you can register for the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Bursaries, you will need to meet the eligibility criteria that comes with this programme.   • Officially recognised as a citizen of South Africa

  • Obtained at least 75% average aggregate score for the subjects of Mathematics and English in their Matric certificate
  • Has an overall average aggregate score of 65% in their tertiary education.

Application Instructions

To sign up for the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Bursaries, candidates will first need to create a Xhuma account to get started. This account is useful towards your entire application journey.

Once you have your account set up, please put in your personal information and attach the following documents:

  • Your Identity Document/Passport/Birth Certificate
  • All of your relevant academic results slips (up to date)
  • Legitimate proof of address from your guardian or parent
  • Proof of income from your household (if you have unemployed parents, please provide an affidavit).

All these documents should be uploaded onto the portal. Failure to provide everything might get you kicked out of registrations.

After putting in everything into your applications, please select your funders. Make sure that the personal information you have provided in the beginning is accurate, as it will be read by your potential funders.

Once all that’s done, all you have to do is wait for your results.

Closing Date
Applications for the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 30 September 2021 at 12:00.

Late applications will not be accepted by the selection committee under any circumstances. Submissions that are received after the closing date will not be recognized during the time of registration.
