- Possess a Matric/Grade 12 certificate if you are a youth applicant.

- Hold an acceptance/provisional acceptance letter from a public institution of higher learning and express a willingness to study in the specified fields if you are a student applicant.

Note: Consideration will only be given to applications from students who either currently study or will be studying at institutions within the KZN Province, unless the qualification is unavailable at a tertiary institution in KwaZulu-Natal or the applicant was not accepted by any of the tertiary institutions in KwaZulu-Natal.
