About the Joburg City Theatres Professional Cookery Learnership 2026-2027
Joburg City Theatres is providing candidates X- positions for candidates interested in pursuing a learnership in the professional field of Professional Cookery. The Joburg City Theatres NC Technical Live Event Learnership actively contributes to skills development by offering valuable Learnership opportunities to unemployed youth residing in Gauteng. The Company aims to empower individuals by providing them with the chance to attend classes and acquire practical work experience within the dynamic theater environment. As part of this initiative, Joburg City Theatres extends an invitation to unemployed youth across the Gauteng Province to apply for participation in comprehensive Learnership program.

Upon successful selection, candidates will be appointed under a 12-month Learnership contract. To support their dedication and efforts, an all-inclusive stipend of R3 500/month will be provided to the learners throughout the duration of the program. This holistic approach aims to enhance both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fostering a well-rounded learning experience for the participants.

The Joburg City Theatres Professional Cookery Learnership is currently available in the following locations:

• CATHSSETA-FUNDED LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME – Certificate in Professional Cookery Level 4 (REF. NO. JCT/2026/07)

Eligibility Criteria

• Obtain a Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
• Demonstrate proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
• Be reliable, committed, and willing to learn
• Unemployed learner
• Fall within the age bracket of 18 to 35 years
• Hold South African citizenship
• City of Johannesburg residence only
• Passionate about cooking and pursuing a career in the hospitality and culinary industry
• Be willing and able to attend both classroom training and workplace practical training for the full duration of the programme
• Have English as a subject in Grade 12 (ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English)
• Not be registered on another learnership, internship or funded skills programme during the period of the learnership
