The inception of the Rola Group traces back to April 1963 when Mr. MH (Kiewiet) Cloete, a farmer hailing from Karasburg, Namibia, encountered serendipity during his annual family vacation in the Strand. It was during this leisurely break that he forged a friendship with the proprietor of the local Helderberg Motors, eventually purchasing a vehicle from him. To his surprise, this transaction led him to become a 50% stakeholder in the once unassuming company. seizing this unexpected opportunity, Mr. Cloete established a new entity, MH Cloete Enterprises, operating under the trade name Rola Motors.

Following Mr. Cloete’s retirement in 1994, Laurie Claassen assumed leadership as the sole proprietor of Rola Motors. He was later joined by his sons, Theo, who became part of the team in 1986, and Marius, who followed suit in 1993. When Laurie Claassen decided to step down in 2007, he entrusted the reins of his flourishing enterprise to his capable sons. Under their guidance, the business rapidly expanded, evolving into what is now known as the Rola Motor Group. From its humble origins, the Rola Group has engaged in the acquisition and trade of various new and used car brands, consistently upholding the Rola customer experience characterized by quality and integrity.
