Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Grand Engineering Learnerships must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. Each of these items below will determine whether you have what it takes to proceed with this position. To guarantee a successful application, candidates are advised to meet all of the following requirements. The Grand Engineering Learnerships Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Must be a male candidates
  • Currently between 17-25 years old
  • Must have a Grade 10/11/12 qualification (with the subjects of Mathematics and Physical Science)
  • Owns an N2 or N3 qualification with all trade subjects
  • Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
  • Willing to take work in a multi-racial environment
  • Can work during shifts and overtime as necessary
  • Proven to be physically and medically fit for the job
  • Communicates well either verbally or through written form.

  • A certified Identity Document that does not exceed more than 3 months
  • Certified academic qualifications or Grade 10 report.

All these documents should be included in your application dossier. Incomplete dossiers will not be considered during the registrtion process.

Closing Date
Applications for the Grand Engineering Learnerships must be submitted before the closing date on 23 December 2022.

The selection committee has absolute zero tolerance for late applications. Submissions made past the closing date will not be acknowledged during the registration period.

Candidates are advised to send in their applications as soon as possible. This will leave you with some time to properly evaluate the contents of your applications. Kindly prepare your applications at your earliest convenience.

  6. I’m Isaac Aloko from Papua New Guinea, resides in the Nation’s Capital District. I’ve worked in Oil and Gas Industry for almost five years with ExxonMobil Papua New Guinea Liquified Natural Gas (PNGLNG) project as an Instrument & Electrical Process Plant Maintenance Technician.

    I’m writing to you with keen interest in the field of Electrical Engineering, since it is within the field of my career. I have eager to learn new skills, knowledge and technologies, master them and perform to the best of my abilities in field to bring the company to the next rank and further my career as well.

    I’ve graduated in 2017 at the National Polytechnic Institute of PNG with a diploma in Electrical Engineering – majoring Power, and have won ExxonMobil scholarship in 2019 to attend Kumul Petroleum Academy and was awarded a City and Guilds of London Institute Certification in Electrical Plant Technician, Certificate IV in Oil, Gas and Energy Industry.

    I can navigate in all Microsoft applications and permit to work systems/permit visions with SAP Portal/Production/Warehouse creating notifications, work order and other transaction codes.

    Whilst working with ExxonMobil PNGLNG Project, I did some Industrial Electrical safety training with other specific trainings and have gained experience to work in duty shifts carrying out PM tasks, complete shut down tasks and work overtime if required.

    And also I have basics skills and experience in doing maintenance services and troubleshooting faults for Gas Turbine Engine Generators, HV/LV Electrical Switchgears (LOTO), power generation and distribution systems, Transformers and Ac variable frequency drive,DC control systems, digital and analogue instruments systems, Hazardous Area rated equipment VFDs and PLCs with ExxonMobil PNGLNG Project.

    With this aforementioned achievements and experiences, I am therefore so eager to further my career through this program and master the skills and knowledge to be gained and perform to the best of my abilities in field to bring the company to the next rank.
