Western Cape Dept of Health is offering financial assistance for candidates who wish to obtain bursary programmes to support their educational journeys. The Western Cape Dept of Health Bursaries is conducted to encourage young people to stay motivated during their academic pursuits, especially in the healthcare department.

The Western Cape Dept of Health Bursaries is available for the following courses and universities:

• B Nursing (University of Western Cape / Cape Peninsula University of Technology)
• B Tech Nursing R 174/Diploma in Nursing R 171/Higher Certificate R 169 (at Western Cape College of Nursing – Atholone, George or Worcester campus)
• Degree Medicine (at University of Stellenbosch/University of Cape Town/University of Free Stte/University of Pretoria/University of the Witwatersrand)
• Degree Pharmacy (at North West University – Potchefstroom campus/University of Western Cape)
• BSc Radiography in Therapy, BSc Radiography in Diagnostic or BSc Radiography in Ultrasound (at Cape Peninsula University of Technology)
• Bachelor of Emergency Medical Care (at Cape Peninsula University of Technology).

Please be kindly informed that the Western Cape Department of Health and Welness have the authority to add or remove the Health Science qualifications as covered by the bursary every year, as acfcording to the needs of the Department.

• Planning to pursue or already accepte for full time studies at one of the courses and universities above
• Passionate and enthusiastic about pursuing your education.

Additionally, you will need to provide the documents below:

• A certified copy of your Identity Document
• A certified copy of your most updated qualification/academic track record
• A certified copy of your legitimate proof of residence
• A certified copy of your parents or guaradians’ proof of residence
• A certified copy of your proof of disability
• A letter of motivation.

By sending in your applications, you are hereby giving permission to the selection committee to have your personal information utilized for registration purposes.

Applications will be subjected to further evaluation and vetting procedures to verify the validity of candidates. Anyone discovered to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will be disqualified from the registration period.

Candidates must process their applications through the portal provided above. Submissions made through other methods, such as email or fax, will not be accepted by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Western Cape Dept of Health Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 29 September 2023.

If you are keen on signing up for the programme, candidates are advised to submit their applications way before the closing date. This is to prevent the chances of a late application, which may disrupt your registration.

The selection committee will not be tolerating any late applications. Anyone found to be sending in their applications day past the closing date will automatically be disqualified from the programme.
