About the Valterra Platinum Bursary 2027
Valterra is now on the search for determined applicants who would like financial assistance to cover their study pursuites with their generous bursary. The Valterra Platinum Bursary Programme provides financial assistance and development opportunities to deserving students who are pursuing studies in engineering-related fields. It is open to two groups of applicants, namely prospective first-year university students who are currently in Grade 12, as well as existing undergraduate students who intend to pursue an Honours qualification in 2027.
The programme specifically invites applications from students who are in their first or final year of study in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or Electronic Engineering. - Candidates should be pursuing a BSc or BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 8), or
- Candidates may also be studying BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 8), or
- Alternatively, applicants may be enrolled in BSc or BEng programmes in Mechatronics or Electronic Engineering (NQF Level 8)
- Applicants must either be in the first year or final year of their academic programme
- Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong academic performance and dedication to their field of study, with a minimum overall average of at least 65%
2. Specific Requirements for First Year Opportunities
- Proof of acceptance at a university for the relevant qualification(s), whether provisional or fully confirmed, must be provided
- Submission of the latest academic record is required, such as final Grade 11 results or the most recent available Grade 12 results, showing an overall average of at least 65%.
- Applicants must include any additional supporting documents, including certificates or records of achievements that strengthen the application.
3. Specific Requirements fo Final Year/Honours Opportunities
- Applicants must be final-year undergraduate students in a field of study that matches the specified qualification requirements listed above
- Candidates should demonstrate an intention to continue their studies by enrolling in an Honours programme in 2027
- A minimum academic performance of 65% or higher, based on the most recent results, is required
- Submission of official academic transcripts is compulsory as part of the application process
- Proof of acceptance into an Honours programme must be provided once it becomes available.
