About the V&A Waterfront Electrical Apprenticeship 2026
The Electrical Apprenticeship provides hands-on learning opportunities under the direct supervision of qualified professionals. Apprentices will assist with electrical maintenance, installations, and fault-finding, while ensuring adherence to safety standards. The program is designed to equip candidates with practical skills, technical knowledge, and workplace readiness.
The V&A Waterfront Electrical Apprenticeship 2026 is offered as a contract position with a duration of 6–9 months, specifically designed for students/recent graduates. The role is based in the Western Cape and is aligned with the organization’s Employment Equity objectives. This opportunity is advertised under the reference number VAWEA0003.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with wiring, connecting, and installing electrical equipment and control systems under supervision
- Support testing and inspection processes for electrical installations and control systems
- Participate in the commissioning of electrical installations under guidance
- Assist in maintenance tasks for equipment and electrical systems
- Learn fault-finding and problem-solving techniques within the electrical environment
- Observe and collaborate with qualified electricians and, where relevant, assist in related construction processes.
