Unitrans is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Stores Assistant to join the Dry Goods Store department. This role is ideal for someone who’s organized, proactive, and eager to support daily production by ensuring that stock is well-managed and readily available. The position plays a key part in the smooth operation of the production and maintenance stores, and the successful candidate will report directly to the Stores Manager.

You will be required to perform the duties below:

• Receive and inspect deliveries to verify that items match the purchase orders and are accompanied by correct invoices or delivery notes
• Organize incoming stock by placing goods in the correct racks or designated areas on the store floor
• Ensure proper stock rotation by following the FEFO (First Expired, First Out) or FIFO (First In, First Out) methods when picking items for production
• Restock shelves and pallets in the main store to keep inventory at required levels for uninterrupted production
• Keep the store area clean and orderly, promoting a safe and efficient work environment
• Stay alert to production requirements and respond quickly to stock needs as they arise
• Follow all health and safety protocols in the workplace to ensure compliance with company standards
• Accurately record stock movements in the requisition book, including details such as product codes, descriptions, quantities, batch numbers, and stock balances after issuance
