About the Unilever Industrial Engineering Internship 2025
Unilever is on the search for applicants who would be keen on obtaining practical work experience through their fruitful internship programme in the Engineering field. The Unilever Industrial Engineering Internship is designed to provide practical exposure and skill-building opportunities, with a primary focus on the implementation of the Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) program. Interns will actively contribute to deploying this system while mastering the application of improvement methodologies aimed at optimizing processes and enhancing operational efficiency. You will be required to perform the duties below:
- Fulfill all requirements of the Unilever learnership program, including attending training sessions, completing assessments, finishing projects, maintaining a logbook, and delivering presentations as required
- Focus on improving process efficiency across all performance areas of the site while aligning with the strategic priorities and goals outlined in the Master Plan.
- Emphasize the implementation of the UMS program and effective application of improvement methodologies; oversee the delivery of the Foundation Tier and, when applicable, the Advanced Tier of UMS across all pillars; build the capability of the R2S cell leadership team and UMS pillar teams by training them in improvement tools and methods
- Oversee the rollout of the UMS program at the site and provide support to pillars by assisting with improvement plans, governance processes, and gap analysis
- Manage site performance data by ensuring accurate reporting and maintaining data systems
- Analyze data and identify trends to propose and implement improvements
- Support governance of the site’s cost savings initiatives by monitoring progress and outcomes
- Collaborate with project leads to track the progress of assigned actions and ensure savings targets are met
- Adhere to SOP procedures as required for assigned operations
- Comply with all site rules related to safety, quality, and the company’s code of business principles to ensure the well-being of self and others.
