About the UD Trucks Apprenticeship 2026
UD Trucks is searching for applicants who would like to obtain practical work exposure to improve their capabilities through their extensive apprenticeship. Participants in the UD Trucks Apprenticeship program will operate under the direct guidance of qualified and experienced mechanics. Their responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, carrying out necessary repairs on vehicles, and ensuring that all work meets the company’s technical standards. In addition, apprentices will be expected to provide customers with accurate advice and professional recommendations regarding the condition and maintenance of their vehicles, contributing to both customer satisfaction and service excellence.
You will be required to perform the following duties:
- Perform fault diagnosis to support and speed up vehicle servicing
- Use diagnostic equipment correctly during vehicle inspections
- Follow all DCSA procedures and policies during repairs and retain required printouts
- Diagnose faults accurately to meet customer satisfaction
- Communicate with Service Advisors when necessary and provide clear explanations
- Cooperate in maintaining vehicle care and safety while handling vehicles
- Minimise repeat repairs (comebacks) as much as possible
- Respond to breakdown calls when required
- Return vehicles to customers in a clean and tidy condition after servicing
- Sign for all parts at the parts department and use them on the correct vehicle
- Return any unused parts to the parts department
- Ensure diagnoses result in the most accurate and cost-effective repair solution
- Provide guidance or apply methods that ensure quality work within safe time limits
- Deliver fault-finding and system diagnostic services to assist and speed up mechanical work
- Complete all required forms and documentation as part of company service procedures
- Prepare and compile any reports as required
- Offer suggestions and advice on special promotional campaigns and participate when needed
- Keep overalls and the work area clean and orderly at all times
- Complete job cards fully and submit them to the Service Advisor promptly once repairs are finished, ensuring accurate repair time recording
- Attend training courses offered by Daimler and Cargo Motors
- Provide technical and diagnostic support within the service department
- Maximise the use of modern diagnostic equipment and accurately interpret results
- Discuss service details with customers when required
- Carry out servicing and maintenance of electrical equipment as needed
- Assist with any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time
Eligibility Criteria
