About the Tsebo Food and Beverage Learnership 2026-2027
Tsebo Catering is offering an exciting Food and Beverage Learnership Programme at NQF Level 4 for aspiring hospitality professionals. This structured 12-month programme is designed to provide learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical workplace experience within the food and beverage services industry.
Participants will develop essential hospitality skills while gaining exposure to customer service, food service operations, workplace safety, and hospitality management practices. The programme aims to equip learners with competencies that can enhance future employment prospects within South Africa’s growing hospitality sector.

Learners will receive training and workplace exposure in areas such as:
- Delivering professional table and beverage service
- Monitoring customer satisfaction and service quality
- Preparing, servicing, and clearing hospitality function venues
- Maintaining workplace health, hygiene, safety, and security standards
- Handling waste disposal and cleaning procedures correctly
- Operating payment points and processing customer payments
- Cleaning, maintaining, and storing catering equipment and glassware
- Building effective relationships with customers and colleagues
- Demonstrating cultural awareness in customer interactions
- Assisting with buffet and carvery service operations
- Processing telephone communications professionally
- Supporting stock receiving, storage, and inventory management activities
- Contributing to staff development and workplace coaching activities
- Planning and monitoring work activities within assigned areas
- Developing job-seeking and self-employment awareness skills
- Applying effective verbal communication techniques
- Maintaining professional workplace conduct and appearance
- Learning basic numerical and calculation skills relevant to hospitality operations

Learnership Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Possess a valid South African ID Document
- Hold a certified Matric (Grade 12) Certificate
- Be able to read and write proficiently
- Must be willing and able to complete the full 12-month learnership programme
- Capable of compiling and submitting a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) as required during the programme.
