About the Thuthuka Bursary Fund
The Thuthuka Bursary Fund is an establishment operating under the Thuthuka Education Upliftment Fund. True to its name, the organisation’s primary activity is to provide support for students recognised as disadvantaged African or Coloured students who wish to pursue a future education and career as Chartered Accountants. By instilling important core values, such as advancing education and empowering youths, the Thuthuka Bursary Fund strives to sustain the future of fellow Chartered Accountants in the country.

About the Thuthuka Bursary 2024
Thuthuka is offering a bursary programme for South African students interested in obtaining generous financial assistance to fund their tertiary education. The Thuthuka Bursary is a wonderful opportunity to get the necessary support to boost your academic journey as a Chartered Accountant. Selected bursars must sign a contract that will bind them together with Thuthuka Education and Upliftment Fund (TEUF) as well as the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Thuthuka Bursary must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. Each of these items below will determine whether you have what it takes to proceed with this bursary. To guarantee a successful application, candidates are advised to meet all of the following requirements. Failure to do so will cause disadvantageous consequences towards the overall result of your applications. Be sure to jot down these items for personal reference.

The Thuthuka Bursary Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Registered or accepted in one of the universities mentioned above
  • Pursuing or planning to pursue one of the fields mentioned above
  • Showcase impressive academic abilities
  • Displays need for immediate financial assistance.

Application Instructions

Candidates interested in the programme will need compile these following documents:

  • Official consent form (must be signed)
  • Candidate’s Identity Document
  • Parents’/Guardians’ Identity Document
  • Parents’/Guardians’ salary slip
  • Valid copies of Identity Document belonging to the persons dependent on the household family income
  • Your final Grade 11 results slip
  • Your final Grade 12 results slip (if you have finished your Grade 12 education)
  • Your complete university transcript (if you’re already in university)
  • A provisional acceptance letter issued by your university (if you are still in high school).

All documents must be included in your application dossier. Incomplete dossiers will not be accepted by the selection committee.

By sending in your applications, you are hereby giving permission to the selection committee to have your personal information utilized for registration purposes.

Applications will be subjected to further evaluation and vetting procedures to verify the validity of candidates. Anyone discovered to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will be disqualified from the registration period.

Candidates must process their applications through the portal provided above. Submissions made through other methods, such as email or fax, will not be accepted by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Thuthuka Bursary must be submitted before the closing date on  31 August 2023.

The selection committee has absolute zero tolerance for late applications. Submissions made past the closing date will not be acknowledged during the registration period.

Candidates are advised to send in their applications as soon as possible. This will leave you with some time to properly evaluate the contents of your applications. Kindly prepare your applications at your earliest convenience.

Thuthuka reserves the rights to make an appointment or not during the recruitment process. All decisions made by the selection committee are final.
