About the Tharisa Bursaries 2026
Tharisa is providing generous financial assistance to applicants who would like to pursue their education in different study fields with their bursaries. The Tharisa Bursary Programme provides comprehensive financial support, covering full tuition fees, accommodation, prescribed textbooks, and a monthly living allowance, commencing from the first semester of 2026. Recipients of the bursary are expected to participate in structured vacation work at the mine at the end of each academic year, allowing them to gain practical industry experience. Upon successful completion of their studies, bursary holders will be required to join the company as graduate interns for a minimum period of one year, contributing their skills while further developing their professional experience within the organisation.

1. Basic Qualifications

• Provide proof of registration confirming that you are currently studying toward one of the specified disciplines
• Include a complete academic record from your tertiary institution
• Confirm that you are a South African citizen, as only citizens are eligible to apply
• Note that preference will be given to applicants from local communities or labour-sending areas
• Refrain from applying if you are currently receiving or have previously been awarded another sponsorship or bursary, as such applications will not be considered
• Ensure that your National Senior Certificate results (with at least 60% in Mathematics and Physical Science) and your proof of registration or institutional acceptance letter are available for final selection review
