• Assemble, install, test, and maintain structural mechanical equipment within the plant using appropriate power tools and gas cutting equipment to ensure all machinery remains safe and fully operational
• Replace liners and carry out repairs on chutes, screens, conveyor belts, jaw crushers, and cone crushers according to established standards and industry best practices
• Inspect and diagnose faulty systems, components, or equipment using testing tools and hand instruments to identify defects, hazards, or root causes, then apply the necessary repairs or adjustments in accordance with safety protocols
• Obtain the required job card and work permit, perform all relevant pre-task risk assessments, and document potential hazards to ensure safe execution of all duties
• Work in coordination with the engineering foreman to uphold health and safety standards by maintaining equipment safely, and promptly stop and report any violations of the MHSA, codes of practice, or mine safety standards
• Fabricate components according to technical drawings, determine material specifications, and implement proper layout, installation, or repair of piping systems as required
• Conduct root cause analyses to assess equipment breakdowns or structural failures, identify areas needing repair or modification, and implement appropriate corrective measures
• Carry out shutdown procedures as outlined in the approved shutdown plan, following standard operating procedures and adhering to codes of practice.

General Responsibilities as Boilermaker

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements and fabrication procedures
