Eligibility Criteria

1. Basic Requirements

• Complete Grade 12 with subjects in Mathematics and Science
• Obtain a full N2 qualification, including four subjects: Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, N2 Rigging Trade Theory, and Engineering Drawing
• Undergo a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre to be medically cleared for the role and working environment; successfully pass the Heat Tolerance Screening test and any additional assessments required to determine suitability for employment.

2. Tasks and Duties

• Participate in technical training programs outlined by the MQA, along with any short courses required by the mine throughout the Learnership, while maintaining steady performance
• Engage in development-focused conversations to support personal and professional growth
• Actively seek constructive feedback to improve skills and performance
• Comply with all company employment terms, internal policies, and the established code of conduct
• Follow all health and safety laws and regulations applicable within the mining environment
• Encourage collaboration and contribute positively as a member of the team
• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the mine premises or at the training facility
• Uphold the core values of South Deep Gold Mine, including safety, integrity, respect, responsibility, innovation, and working together to achieve results.
