About the SGS Job Vacancy as Driver 2025
SGS is on the search for applicants who are willing to work with the ompany as a professional Driver in this full-time position currently based in Pretoria. The SGS Driver role centers on delivering dependable and courteous transportation services while prioritizing safety at all times. Drivers are expected to immediately stop using any equipment that could pose a safety risk or avoid entering potentially hazardous areas without proper training and protective gear. If a situation arises that could compromise the quality or integrity of services, drivers must halt their tasks and take appropriate action to resolve the issue.
In cases where there is a deviation from standard procedures, a system improvement is identified, or any nonconformity is observed, drivers are encouraged to initiate a formal improvement request. Additionally, drivers must not permit anyone without the proper license or authorization from management to operate the assigned vehicle under any circumstances.
General Duties as Driver
- Carry out a range of duties involving the safe and timely transportation of passengers and/or equipment to designated locations
- Complete deliveries as needed, ensuring packages or items are handled with care and delivered efficiently
- Operate the assigned vehicle responsibly and keep accurate records of usage, mileage, and maintenance
- Comply with all safety protocols and quality standards outlined in the SGS management system
- Take on any other reasonable tasks or responsibilities assigned by your direct supervisor, as needed to support daily operations
- Inspect the vehicle and/or trailer before use to confirm there is no visible damage and that it complies with all legal and operational requirements
- Monitor the vehicle and/or trailer’s load to ensure it is never overloaded, maintaining compliance with safety and legal limits
- Manage your time effectively to meet schedules, complete tasks promptly, and support team productivity
- Immediately report any damage to the vehicle or trailer and complete a detailed incident report within 24 hours of the occurrence.

- Show proficiency in reading and writing

- Be willing to work overtime when required
