About the Seriti Coal Community Learnership 2025
Seriti Coal is looking for applicants who would like to receive theoretical knowledge and practical skills as a dedicated Community learner through their learnership. The Seriti Coal Community Learnership offers aspiring operators a unique opportunity to begin their careers in the mining industry. As a learner in the underground (UG) mining production section, participants will be trained to safely and efficiently operate a range of underground coal mining machinery that plays a vital role in coal extraction and production.

Learners will receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced miners and machinery operators who will provide guidance, mentorship, and real-world insight into day-to-day operations. This structured program is designed to equip participants with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge, ensuring they gain the confidence and competence required to work in an underground mining environment.

Through this program, learners will develop a strong foundation in mining operations, safety procedures, and machine handling, ultimately preparing them for future roles as qualified mining machinery operators within the coal sector.

You will also be required to perform the duties below:

  • Operate a variety of underground (UG) mining equipment as required for production activities
  • Support efforts to maintain clean, safe, and orderly conditions in the designated mining area
  • Carry out additional tasks within and around your work area based on operational needs
  • Independently identify equipment faults or irregularities during operations
  • Participate in all required training sessions related to machinery operation and safety.
