About Scatec
Scatec is a significant provider of solutions for renewable energy, providing accessibility to clean energy that is reliable and affordable in areas that are seeing high economic development. They are a long-term player that develops, constructs, owns, and runs renewable energy projects, and they now have 3.5 GW of installed capacity that is spread across all four continents.

About the Scatec Bursaries 2023
Scatec is accepting Matric (Grade 12) and university students to participate in the company’s bursary programme for immediate financial aid for their studies. The Scatec Bursaries is a wonderful programme for anybody who is planning to pursue or currently in the midst of their full-time studies towards a degree in the Engineering study fields.

The Scatec Bursaries is currently available for the fields below:

  • Electrical Engineering (B.Eng)
  • Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng)
  • Electronical Engineering (B.Eng)

Accepted applicants will be entitled to coverage for the following items:

  • Registration costs
  • Full tuition expenses (except repeat modules)
  • Prescribed study materials
  • Stipend for meals
  • Accommodation costs
  • A one-time allowance for laptop and calculator
  • Wonderful work opportunities under a work-back obligation
  • Opportunities to develop your abilities and knowledge
  • Necessary support for pscyhe-social aspects.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Scatec Bursaries must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. Each of these items below will determine whether you have what it takes to proceed with this learnership. To guarantee a successful application, candidates are advised to meet all of the following requirements. The Scatec Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
  • Has finished your Matric qualification or currently taking your Matric
  • Currently pursuing or planning to pursue full-time studies in one of the study fields mentioned above
  • Currently pursuing or planning to pursue at a university recognized by the Engineering
  • Council of South Africa (ECSA)
  • For Matric students: you must obtain at least an overall average score of 70% and a passing grade for the subjects of Mathematics and Physical Science
  • For 1st-3rd year students: you must obtain at leaset an average aggregate score of 50% for your end of year results and complete academic transcript
  • For postgraduate students: successfully completed your undergraduate studies
  • Preference is offered to students who are recognized as a Previously Disadvantaged
  • Designated groups within South Africa.

  2. As grade 12 learner I would like to be helped by this bursary financially this coming year. I will like to study next so that I will be able to help my family and my community. Things are not so good where I’m coming from and there has been anyone to change the satiation. I’m the only hope so far. In Grade 11 I didn’t do so well but this year there’s a huge improvement and I’m looking forward to meeting the requirements at the end of the year.
