The South African Weather Service invites applications for its BSc Honours Bursary in Meteorology. This bursary is designed to assist deserving students who intend to pursue or are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Meteorology at a recognised South African university.

The programme aims to support the development of skilled professionals in weather and climate sciences to strengthen national forecasting capacity. Successful candidates will receive financial assistance covering full tuition fees and a monthly stipend for the duration of their studies.

Bursary Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have obtained or be completing a BSc degree in a relevant field
  • Must have a confirmation letter from a recognised university indicating acceptance into the BSc Honours programme in Meteorology
  • Those already enrolled must submit proof of registration
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and a basic level of computer literacy (recommended)
  • South African citizenship is required.
