About the Sasol Youth Development Programme 2024
Sasol is on the search of knowledgable applicants who would like to apply for a programme to develop their skills and abilties within a professional work setting. The Sasol Youth Development Programme involves participants working as full members of Sasol Chemicals’ international team of Data Scientists and Full-stack Developers. This team is responsible for delivering digital solutions through advanced data analytics and application development, collaborating closely with stakeholders across the entire value chain, from Operations to Sales.

The team operates from three key hubs—USA, Germany, and South Africa—and includes individuals with diverse educational backgrounds and experiences. Mentorship and training are integral to the programme, providing interns with the opportunity to develop both their technical skills and business understanding. Interns can expect structured learning, with one day each week dedicated to joint development activities, and will engage in various collaborative formats, including Show&Tell sessions, hackathons, and community of practice events.

You will also be required to fulfill the duties below:

  • Use advanced statistical methods and cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and machine learning techniques to analyze production and business data
  • Proactively collect data from multiple sources, combining and preparing large datasets with different structures and complexities
  • Create sustainable software solutions, both frontend and backend, adhering to best practices
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and business stakeholders to design and implement scalable solutions
  • Engage actively in scrum processes and team meetings, assisting with communication, enhancing transparency, and sharing information.
