About the Sasol Inspector Learnership 2022-2025
Sasol is offering a learnership programme for anybody interested in becoming an Inspector-in-training and would like to receive new working knowledge. The whole three-year training program is accredited with the Southern African Institute of Welding (SAIW), and participants are required to demonstrate a dedication to achieving academic success. At the Sasol Secunda plant, it is the responsibility of the IPE, also known as the Inspector of Pressurized Equipment, to supervise and certify the manufacture of new equipment and repairs.
Inspecting welds, certifying materials, complying with production or maintenance requirements, and reviewing manufacturing documents are some of the duties. At the Sasol Secunda plant, the CP, also known as the Competent Inspector, is in charge of performing the physical inspection and certification of the equipment in order to guarantee that the equipment will continue to function in a safe manner until the next inspection. In addition to performing visual inspections and non-destructive tests, duties also involve compiling reports and evaluating records and paperwork.

Eligibility Criteria

- Mathematics: 50%
- Engineering Science / Physical Science: 50%
- English: 50%
- Preferable: finished an S4 qualification in the fields of Mechanical / Mectallurgy / Welding Engineering
- The hiring procedure consists of a psychometric testing, interviews, a medical and fitness evaluation, verification of qualification, and a background check. After the completion of all of the verifications, a candidate is then considered eligible for final selection.
