Sasol Agriculture Trust is offering several bursary programmes for South African students who require postgraduate funding in their Agricultural studies. The Sasol Agriculture Trust Bursaries is specifically designed to financially support individuals who are enrolled in either a Master’s program focused on dissertation research or pursuing a doctoral degree.

1. Master’s Degree with Dissertation:
Bursaries amounting to R99,750 per year, for a duration of two years, applicable to MSc candidates. The disbursement of bursaries will strictly adhere to progress reports submitted and authorized by both the student and their academic supervisor.

2. Doctoral Research:
Bursaries amounting to R131,250 per year, lasting for a period of three years, designated for PhD candidates. The allocation of bursaries will strictly follow the submission and endorsement of progress reports by both the student and their academic supervisor.

It’s important to note that applying for this bursary does not create a binding agreement for the Sasol Agriculture Trust to grant the bursary, nor does it guarantee the awarding of any bursaries.

The initial payment for the bursaries is made in January of each year, and the continued support is contingent upon receiving a positive evaluation from the student’s academic supervisor.

The Sasol Agriculture Trust evaluates the recipient’s progress based on their supervisor’s reports, determining if the recipient is making satisfactory progress in their studies. Additionally, recipients are expected to submit both a printed and digital version of their completed thesis or dissertation after finishing their academic program, which will then be shared on pertinent industry websites.

  • It is the Student’s duty to inform the Supervisor about the need to register on our website for the specific Bursary Scheme. The supervisor can obtain the URL from the student or upon request.
  • Upon receipt of a bursary, applicants are expected to contribute to the South African agricultural industry for a period equal to the bursary’s duration.
