SANParks (South African National Parks) is now searching for candidates who would like to apply for a position as a Storeman in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The SANParks (South African National Parks) Job as Storeman is required to perform the duties below:

  • Procure goods and materials in accordance with prescribed standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Receive all incoming goods and stock deliveries
  • Support the effective management of stock, materials, and spare parts within the store
  • Assist with the distribution of stock to all camps as required
  • Pack and organize all received items neatly and systematically
  • Participate in regular and ad hoc stock-taking activities
  • Contribute to asset control and asset management processes
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and track and monitor all procurement activities
  • Control the tool store by issuing and receiving tools in line with established procedures
  • Clean designated areas in accordance with approved procedures and requirements
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Comply with all occupational health and safety policies and procedures

General Responsibilities as Storeman

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock against delivery notes and purchase orders
  • Store materials, tools, and equipment safely and systematically in designated areas
  • Issue stock accurately in accordance with approved requisitions and maintain proper records
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly
  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist with periodic inventory audits
  • Maintain accurate stock records using manual systems or computerized inventory systems
  • Ensure the storeroom is kept clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards
  • Adhere to supply chain management (SCM) policies and procedures at all times
  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and internal departments regarding stock requirements
  • Handle and store hazardous or sensitive materials in accordance with safety regulations
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and rotation of stock (FIFO principles where applicable)
  • Safeguard assets by preventing loss, damage, or unauthorized access to stock
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of goods when required
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and report safety risks or incidents
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management
