The Sanlam Actuarial Bursary is available for both Undergraduate Studies and School leaving learners who intend to study Actuarial Science in 2024.

• Support and payment for actuarial board examinations
• Available vacation work and chances to network with staff from Sanlam
• Mentoring sessions and academic support provided by Sanlam actuarial professionals

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Sanlam Actuarial Bursary must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. A. Undergraduate Studies

• Complete academic transcripts
• Legitimate proof of registration and/or fee statement
• Complete copy of your Matric qualification
• A copy of your Identity Document/Passport or legitimate study visa
• Your most updated Curriculum Vitae with a strong focus on Academics, Extra-mural activities, and leadership abilities
• A letter of motivation by asnwering the following questions:
  • Provide your own explanation of the role and responsibilities of an actuary
  • State your reasons for choosing to pursue a study in actuarial science
  • Share why you believe you possess the necessary qualities and capabilities to succeed as an actuary
  • Justify why Sanlam should select you as a recipient of their bursary program
  • If your pursuit of becoming an actuary does not come to fruition, discuss alternative career paths you are contemplating.

B. School Leaving Learners Interested in Studying Actuarial Science in 2024

• Your final 2022 Grade 11 results slips
• Grade 12 mid-year 2023 results slip
• NBT results slip
• Final Grade 12 results slip may be used as a determining factor
• An above 90% score in Mathematics and an overall A aggregate
• Your most updated Curriculum Vitae with a strong focus on Academics, Extra-mural activities, and leadership abilities
• A letter of motivation by asnwering the following questions:
  • Provide your own explanation of the role and responsibilities of an actuary
  • State your reasons for choosing to pursue a study in actuarial science
  • Share why you believe you possess the necessary qualities and capabilities to succeed as an actuary
  • Justify why Sanlam should select you as a recipient of their bursary program
  • If your pursuit of becoming an actuary does not come to fruition, discuss alternative career paths you are contemplating.
