Founded in 1997, the South African Muslim Network (SAMNET) is a nationwide network that advocates for Muslims’ interests in a wide range of fields. As well as networking broadly within the Muslim community, SAMNET also networks widely between Muslims in Southern Africa and Muslims in the rest of Southern Africa.

The establishment’s objectives are to prioritize and provide answers to the problems that society is experiencing; to actualize a focused Ummah that embodies and expresses the genuine spirit of Islam; and to construct a focused Ummah that embodies and manifests the true spirit of Islam.

SAMNET (South African Muslim Network) is offering financial aid for candidates who wish to pursue their qualification in an accredited tertiary institution. The SAMNET (South African Muslim Network) Bursaries are an all-inclusive initiative that invites persons from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds

Eligibility Criteria

  • Planning or already studying in one of the fields mentioned above
  • Planning or already studying in an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Proven to required immediate financial assistance
  • Currently eligible for Zakat.

  • A copy of your high school results slip
  • A copy of your Identity Document/Passport
  • A letter of motivation typed and officially signed by the candidate
  • A list of your subject/courses (if you are already enrolled in a tertiary institution)
  • A copy of your Tertiary Education Results slip (not required if your are a first time applicant to a teritary institution)
  • Details including year of previous application and the outcome (if applicable)
  • Legitimate proof of expenses covered by parents/dependents (if applicable)
  • A reference from non-immediate family member (optional).

All these documents should be included in your application dossier. Incomplete applications will be disqualified.

By sending in your applications, you are hereby giving permission to the selection committee to have your personal information utilized for registration purposes.

Applications will be subjected to further evaluation and vetting procedures to verify the validity of candidates. Anyone discovered to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will be disqualified from the registration period.

Candidates must process their applications through the portal provided above. Submissions made through other methods, such as hand delivery or fax, will not be accepted by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the SAMNET (South African Muslim Network) Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 31 January 2022.

By enrolling as quickly as possible, you can ensure that your application is secured as soon as possible. However, this does not guarantee instant success and is just intended to provide you with a secure position throughout the recruiting process.
