About Samancor Chrome
The history of Samancor Chrome dates back to 1975, when SA Manganese Ltd. and Amcor Ltd. merged, creating Samancor Chrome as a public company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. While Amcor was founded in 1937 to exploit mineral reserves for the steel industry and to transform those minerals into ferroalloys, SA Manganese was founded in 1926 to extract manganese ore deposits in the Northern Cape.

Through a series of transactions, the latter of which involved Sinosteel, Samancor Chrome was able to successfully acquire the ferrochrome smelting and chrome mining assets from International Ferrometals’ business rescue practitioners as well as the smelting assets from ASA Metals’ business rescue practitioners between the beginning of 2016 and the end of 2017.

You will follow a defined curriculum that alternates between theoretical exams and hands-on training sessions performed in actual workplace settings throughout the duration of the program.
