About the Saint-Gobain Maintenance Planner YES Programme 2026
Saint-Gobain is currently looking for candidates who would like to obtain practical work exposure as a future Maintenance Planner with their YES programme. The Saint-Gobain Maintenance Planner YES Programme focuses on developing, implementing, and continuously enhancing the plant’s maintenance planning and scheduling system through SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM).

Participants support the effective planning, resourcing, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities to improve plant reliability, minimize equipment breakdowns, and maximize engineering efficiency. The programme also provides exposure to industry best practices by supporting the transition from traditional Excel-based planning to a structured SAP PM maintenance management system aligned with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.

YES Programme Duties

• Prepare detailed maintenance job plans to support efficient work execution
• Create and maintain standardized maintenance task lists within SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM)
• Develop and implement structured preventive maintenance plans and strategies
• Compile comprehensive, high-quality job packs for maintenance execution teams
• Support the migration of maintenance planning processes from Excel-based systems to SAP PM
• Coordinate weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure all work orders are fully planned and prepared before they are scheduled for execution
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules that align with production priorities and operational requirements
• Monitor and manage the maintenance backlog while supporting the work prioritization process
• Coordinate the planning and preparation of all plant shutdown maintenance activities
• Define and develop detailed work scopes for planned shutdowns
• Ensure the required parts, labour, tools, and contractor resources are arranged in advance
• Monitor shutdown activities and evaluate performance against the approved maintenance plan
• Identify and reserve all materials required to complete scheduled maintenance work orders
• Collaborate closely with the stores team to ensure spare parts are available before maintenance activities commence
• Enhance engineering productivity through effective and structured maintenance planning practices
• Provide technicians with clear work instructions and comprehensive job packs before task execution
• Minimize maintenance downtime and improve efficiency by reducing delays caused by inadequate planning and preparation.
