The entity is responsible for the import and export of various products, such as soya beans, rice, maize, wheat, and sunflower seeds. Besides that, the SABT is also mainly responsible for the export of fluorspar, a highly sought after mineral that is only available in a certain region of South Africa. Supported by hardworking staff of 180 employees, the SABT ensures the company’s high technical capacity to handle commodities that are typically required by the general public.

The SABT (South African Bulk Terminals) Bursary Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
- Holds a legitimate South African Identity Document
- Below 35 years old during the time of applications
- Not formally employed by a certain entity
- Planning to pursue a full-time education in 2021 at any accredited South African Tertiary Institution (approved by the Department of Higher Education and Training).

After obtaining the application form, please fill it in completely using their own handwriting with only BLOCK letters. Candidates will need to provide their personal details on the queries that have been provided. The information you give to the selection committee should be accurate as your application will be subjected to further verification. Candidates found to be falsifying any parts of their applications will be disqualified.
Besides the application form, candidates must prepare the following documents in PDF format:
- A valid, certified copy of your Identity Document
- A legitimate letter of acceptance/enrollment issued by your institution
- An available Matric certificate with your most recent academic track record
- A detailed breakdown of your tuition expenses issued by your respective tertiary institution
- A letter of disability issued by your doctor (if required)
- A brief CV (Curriculum Vitae) that does not exceed more than 2 pages
- A letter of motivation
Each learner is only allowed to send one application form. Applications should contain all of the items mentioned above. Failure to comply to the application terms and requirements will cause your application to be disqualified.

Due to the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19, the selection committee will not be accepting applications submitted through hand delivery.
Applications for the SABT (South African Bulk Terminals) Bursary must be submitted before the closing date on 31 January 2021.
The selection committee will not be acknowledging applications sent past the deadline. Candidates found to be making their submissions late will not be considered for registration.
Announcements will only be made to students who have been shortlisted for the programme. Should you not hear back from the committee by 28 February 2021, we regret to inform you that your applications has not been successful. Shortlisted candidates must prepare themselves for a follow up interview.
The South African Bulk Terminals holds all rights to make an appointment or not. All decisions made by the selection committee are final.
