About the Rand Water Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership 2026-2027
Rand Water is inviting 10 applications from suitably qualified, unemployed South African citizens to participate in its Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership Programme. The programme aims to equip learners with essential knowledge, practical experience, and professional competencies to function effectively as Procurement Officers.

A Procurement Officer is responsible for coordinating the acquisition of goods and services, managing supplier relationships and contracts, and monitoring procurement schedules.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain procurement and supply operational schedules
- Oversee supplier contracts and ensure compliance with procurement standards
- Monitor procurement performance and report on key metrics
- Attend training sessions, complete assignments, and participate in all class activities
- Compile a practical logbook and complete assessments as part of the learnership.

Learnership Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID document
- Must be unemployed and not currently studying or enrolled in another learnership
- Must hold a Matric (Grade 12) certificate with Mathematical Literacy and English (minimum Level 4 in both subjects)
- Must not possess any post-matric qualification (applicants with post-matric qualifications will be disqualified)
- Must provide a SAQA/NLRD verification report (available on the SAQA website)
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old (in line with the NSDS III)
- Must submit a certified copy of ID, proof of residence, certified Matric certificate, SAQA/NLRD verification, and CV
- Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are encouraged to apply. Applicants who are deaf or hard of hearing must arrange interpreters at their own cost and provide proof of disability (doctor’s report or completed ITRDD13 form).
