The PIC was established in 1994 and is headquartered in Johannesburg. The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) was established in 1911 as the Public Debt Commissioners and became a corporation on April 1, 2005, in compliance with the Public Investment Corporation Act, 2004. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the PIC (Public Investment Corporation) Bursaries must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. - Focus the PIC bursary on students who are either planning to enroll or are currently pursuing their first undergraduate qualification. Please note that we do not provide funding for post-graduate or second qualifications.
- Ensure that applicants are South African Citizens aged 25 years or younger.
- During the shortlisting process, take into account the following criteria:
- Give top priority to applicants with disabilities.
- For matriculants, require a minimum pass rate of 60% in each subject.
- For tertiary-level applicants, mandate a minimum 60% pass rate in each module and an overall average based on the most recent results.
- Verify that applicants have been accepted for studies at a South African Public Accredited Institution of Higher Learning.

Additionally, you will need to provide the documents below:
- A completed application form
- A valid RSA identity document copy
- Proof of disability (medical certificate)
- Academic transcripts (if currently enrolled at an accredited tertiary institution)
- Matric Certificate (or Grade 11 and June results if currently in Grade 12)
- Copy of a signed student study loan agreement or contract (if applicable)
- Preliminary acceptance letter(s) from an accredited tertiary institution
- Quotation for tuition, books, accredited learning institution accommodation, and meals
- Proof of monthly household income and dependents, for instance:
- Salary or wage slips if employed, or an affidavit if unemployed
- Death certificate if applicable
- SASSA letter indicating received grants if applicable
- Affidavit declaring annual income if self-employed
- Court letter stating child support amount in cases of divorce, or an affidavit from the parent detailing the child support amount received if parents are separated.
Ensure that all supporting documents are officially certified, and please note that these certified copies should not be more than three months old as of the submission date. Additionally, the application form should bear the signatures of both the applicant and, in the case of minors, the Parent/Guardian.
Protecting your account information will help to ensure that your account is protected at all times. Never give out your account information to anybody else, especially not your password.
It will be examined by the entire selection committee, which will include you, and the information you supply will be kept confidential. As a result, you should do a thorough check to guarantee that there is no fake information included. Candidates may be placed in a potentially hazardous situation if there is proof that they are providing misleading information.
The selection committee will use the information you provide to register you for the event. By submitting your applications, you are giving the committee permission to use your personal information for this reason.

Closing Date
Applications for the PIC (Public Investment Corporation) Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 30 September 2023.
