About the Netflix Scholarship 2022
Netflix is offering a scholarship programme for students who are interested in the fields of Film and TV and have a passion for the local creative industry. The Netflix Scholarship is a programme that’s designed to encourage Black representation within the South African creative scene.
At the moment, the scholarship is available for postgraduate students. The one-year scholarship will provide coverage for tuition expenses, accommodation costs, prescribed study materials, and a living allowance. This coverage will be available for the 2022 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

The Netflix Scholarship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Must be pursuing a one-year postgraduate qualification that is relevant to the field of filmmaking and/or television
- Has obtained at least a 60% aggregate score for their academic performance
- Considered as Black, Coloured, or Indian students
- Officially recognised as citizens of South Africa
- Must be studying at one of these tertiary institutions:
- Durban University of Technology
- University of Cape Town
- University of the Witwatersrand
- AACA Film & Acting School
- Boston Media House
- Tshwane University of Technology
- AFDA
- University of Pretoria
- University of Johannesburg
- University of KwaZulu-Natal.
