About the Netcare Pharmacist Assistant Learnership 2026
Netcare is searching for candidates who would like to obtain theoretical knowledge and practical working skills as a professional Pharmacist Assistant in three locations. The Netcare Pharmacist Assistant Learnership is designed to prepare candidates to provide medication and related support services to patients, as well as to assist members of the broader healthcare team, all under the guidance and supervision of a registered Pharmacist. In this role, the Pharmacist Assistant is expected to ensure that patients’ needs are met efficiently, responsibly, and to a high standard, while also considering cost-effective practices. The position emphasizes delivering safe, accurate, and timely pharmaceutical support, contributing to the overall quality of patient care and supporting the operational effectiveness of the pharmacy team.
You will be required to deliver the following outputs:
- Participate in all stages of cyclical and comprehensive stock-taking processes, including procurement and ethical stock management
- Process stock for internal departments as well as for inter-clinic sales
- Support the management of stock in line with Netcare’s Stock Management Policy, with particular attention to designated stock areas
- Assist the pharmacist in all dispensing activities
- Pick and package medication under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist
- Record all dispensed items accurately to patients’ accounts, following medical aid TTO regulations
- Enter patients’ profiles into the Unisolve system
- Log prescriptions in the Unisolve system
- Support the monthly recall of chronic medication for patients
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to establish and maintain positive, mutually beneficial working relationships
- Foster a respectful and inclusive environment where differences are recognized, understood, and valued, enabling everyone to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully
