About the Mpact Appenticeships 2021
Mpact is offering apprenticeship progarmmes for South African individuals who wish to master their trade as a Rigger and Electrician in a company setting. The Mpact Appenticeships is a grand opportunity for young folks who wish to further develop their available potential and receive practical exposure in a real-time working environment. The Mpact Appenticeships is currently offered to 18.2 Learners (unemployed individuals). Once selected, apprentices are required to report to the Mpact Paper’s Springs Mill Site.

Selected apprentices will be required to participate in their Engineering Trainee Programme and must follow the fixed term comprehensive training programme conducted at Springs Mill. Once you have successfully finished the programme, apprentices will be considered for an appointment in Mpact’s Engineering Departments (if vacancies are available). The Mpact Appenticeships will officially commence in March 2021. Selected apprentices are expected to fully commit their time into the entire duration of the programmes.

Apprenticeship Responsibilities

  • Taking accountability of their actions and safety
  • Providing contributions to strengthen Mpact’s safety culture
  • Learning how to utilize the tools available in the company
  • Developing a strong sense of dexterity in a specific field
  • Finishing the require trade learning assessments
  • Developing a strong theoretical understanding of the company’s business operations
  • Mastering the sectoral knowledge required to advance in a company setting
  • Shows proven fluency in both written and spoken English.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Mpact Appenticeships must fulfill an eligibility criteria to be considered for a position in the programmes. Each of these items will be used by the selection committee to fairly assess all incoming candidates. The Mpact Appenticeships Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • A Matric Certificate with at least 60% symbols for Maths and Science (no Maths Literacy)
    • Or, a National Certificate N3 with Mathematics and Engineering Science
  • Advantageous: an N3 Qualification focusing on a relevant trade theory.

Applications for the Mpact Appenticeships must be submitted before the closing date on Thursday, 04 February 2021.

The selection committee has absolute zero tolerance towards late applications. Candidates discovered to be sending in their applications past the closing date will not be acknowledged during the registration period.
