About the Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sports Foundation
Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sport Foundation is a PFMA schedule 3C Public Entity of the Department of Arts, Culture, Sports, and Recreation in the North West Province. It was founded in accordance with the Mmabana Act No. 07 of 2 000 as modified. The foundation’s long-term goal is to evolve into a multi-faceted organization that offers communities throughout the North West Province access to a wide variety of artistic and artistically-oriented athletic forms, as well as a wide range of programming and services.

The Mmabana Arts, Culture and Sport Foundation is committed to the development, fostering, enhancement, and promotion of the total spectrum of the Arts, Artistic Sport and supporting skills, expertise, technology and excellence in the North West Province and South Africa. They do this by being a professional Arts, Culture and Sport organization standing on these pillars: art Education, development, and training, performing and creating, as well as identifying talent. In addition, they host an annual arts festival.

Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sports Foundation is offering financial aid for undergraduate and postgraduate students who are studying Performing and Visual Arts. The Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sports Foundation Bursary is a program that invites individuals from all various kinds of backgrounds.

It is an all-inclusive program. If you are selected as a recipient of the prize, you will get the assistance you need to pursue the academic qualification you want. You are strongly urged to take advantage of this chance if you have achieved outstanding success in your academic pursuits and have shown other admirable characteristics as a student.

Eligibility Criteria

If you’d like to stand a chance of acceptance, make sure you fulfill all of the criteria that are mentioned. The Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sports Foundation Bursary Eligibliity Criteria are as follows:

  • Officially recognized as South African citizens
  • Must be residing within the North West Province
  • Be able to provide a legitime proof of income (e.g. 3 months pay slip from the applicant, parent, or guardian (if employed))
  • Shows to be requiring immediate financial asisstance (e.g. affidavit, a letter of motivation)
  • Proven letter of admission or acceptance in a well-credited South African institution of learning for the qualifications mentioned above.

Candidates will need to send in their applications and required forms to the email address mentioned above. Alternatively, you can send them in directly to the Mmabana Centers within the NW Province, which includes: Taung, Rustenburg, Mahikeng, Lehurutshe, and the Kanana Community Arts Centre (Orkney).

The documents you have to provide include:

  • A certified copy of your Identity Document (a certified copy that does not exceed later than 6 months)
  • A legitimate proof of acceptance issued by a well-recognized Institution of Learning
  • Legitimate academic transcripts or record (for non-first year students)
  • An official proof of residence
  • A complete fee structure issued by your respective institutions
  • Complete banking details from your intitution of learning
  • Proof of income from students, parents, or guardians (please provide three recent pay slips if they are employed)
  • A brief letter of motivation and an affidavit if there is financial need.

All these documents must be included in your application dossiers. Incomplete dossiers will automatically be disqualified from the registration process.

The information you put in will be evaluated by the entirety of the selection committee. That’s why you should double-check to see if there is no false information. Any indication of candidates providing wrongful details might be put in a risky situation.

By sending in your applications, you are hereby giving permission to the selection committee to have your personal information utilized for registration purposes.

Candidates must process their applications through the methods mentioned above. Submissions made through other methods, such as fax, will not be accepted by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sports Foundation Bursary must be submitted before the closing date on 17 June 2022.

The selection committee has absolute zero tolerance for late applications. Submissions made past the closing date will not be acknowledged during the registration period.

Candidates are advised to send in their applications as soon as possible. This will leave you with some time to properly evaluate the contents of your applications. Kindly prepare your applications at your earliest convenience.

Mmabana Arts, Culture, and Sports Foundation reserves the rights to make an appointment or not during the recruitment process. All decisions made by the selection committee are final.
