MasterChef South Africa Competition 2025 Rules:

• Must be 18 years or older by 3 November 2025
• Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident
• Cannot be employed or previously employed as a professional chef
• Must be available for filming between 3 November – 12 December 2025
• Should be in good physical and mental health
• Strong passion for food and storytelling is essential
• Employees or family members of Primedia, Homebrew Films, or sponsors may not apply.

Your application will only be considered if it includes an introduction video. This is your opportunity to showcase your personality, share your story, and stand out from the thousands of other applicants. Please follow the guidelines below:

• Tell us why you believe you are the ideal contestant for MasterChef South Africa
• Share your food dreams and explain what you would bring to the competition
• Let us see your personality and your passion for food
• The video must not exceed 250MB in size and should be no longer than 4 minutes
• You may cook during your video if you wish, but make sure we can clearly see and hear you, not just the food
• The video does not need to be professionally produced—a clear recording from a mobile phone is perfectly acceptable
• We cannot emphasize enough how crucial this video is to your application.
