The CoJ (City of Johannesburg) is offering an Expanded Public Works Programme to South African individuals who are interested in this particular line of career. The CoJ (City of Johannesburg) EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme) is a grand opportunity for unemployed young folks who wish to provide assistance with various services in the health facilities department. Selected participants will be tasked with duties such as general work, queue marshaling, and other administrative tasks. Participants will also be tasked in regions A, B, C, D, E, F, and G from Ward 1 to 135. Throughout the programme, participants will be entitled to a monthly stipend of up to R3 500.

Programme Key Performances
1. General Worker

  • Cleaning the waiting area, offices, consulting rooms, designated areas
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of surfaces typically utilized for clinical procedures
  • Changing soiled linen that are available in consulting rooms
  • Taking out the trash from dustbins and surrounding areas.

2. Administration Assistant/Data Capturer

  • Capturing the data of clients’ records used to updated information of clients
  • Collecting the monthly statistics of clients who visited the clinic
  • Archiving and filing the clients’ cards in an organized manner
  • Making appointments for services
  • Coordinating files and equipment used by the clinic
  • Taking note and recoding existing discussions and typing in the minutes.

3. Queue Marshal

  • Welcoming visitors and patients of the clinic
  • Providing assistance for visitors who require information in the clinic
  • Ensuring a smooth patient flow
  • Screening patients when entering the waiting area
  • Managing queues in the clinic
  • Tending to helpdesk works as accordingly.
