About the Hytec Apprenticeship 2025
Hytec is searching for applicants who would like to obtain practical work exposure focusing on the Operations department with their apprenticeship programme. The Hytec Apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity for two aspiring apprentices to become part of the organization and complete the hands-on training required to qualify as certified Millwrights. Through this programme, participants will gain valuable practical experience, technical knowledge, and industry exposure essential for building a successful career in the mechanical and electrical maintenance field.

You will be required to perform the duties below:

  • Assemble hydraulic systems in accordance with engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Install hydraulic systems across various applications, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and procedures
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults in hydraulic systems, carrying out necessary repairs to restore full functionality
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and enhance operational longevity
  • Replace defective or worn components such as pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings to maintain system efficiency
  • Build electrical control panels by securing components like circuit breakers, relays, and terminal blocks onto designated panels or sub-panels
  • Connect electrical components according to schematic diagrams, ensuring accurate wiring and compliance with electrical safety codes
  • Label all wires and components clearly to facilitate identification and efficient troubleshooting
  • Detect operational issues or malfunctions within hydraulic systems promptly
  • Analyze root causes of system failures and apply effective corrective measures
  • Follow all safety procedures and industry regulations when handling or maintaining hydraulic systems
  • Perform tasks safely and responsibly to avoid workplace accidents and injuries
  • Keep comprehensive records of installations, repairs, maintenance operations, and component inventories
  • Complete all Quality Control Procedures (QCP) and required documentation accurately
  • Collaborate with Artisans to understand specific hydraulic system requirements
  • Offer technical support, guidance, and assistance in resolving any system-related inquiries or challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Complete a minimum of two years of practical training from a QCTO-registered trade school
  • Finish all required institute training successfully
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
  • Develop hydraulic skills to gain an added advantage
  • Familiarize yourself with tools and equipment used in electrical assembly for improved efficiency
  • Communicate effectively and demonstrate strong teamwork abilities
  • Be prepared to work overtime when necessary
  • Perform well under pressure and maintain professionalism
